Mechanical Engineering student at Duke University Learning to fly, and building the systems that do
My passion for mechanical engineering and aerospace began in elementary school, when my uncle came to live with me for a year while studying aerospace engineering as an undergraduate. I had always been fascinated by how things moved—airplanes, boats, rockets, and cars—but after multiple trips to the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum, that curiosity became an obsession. Building our first airplane out of balsa wood was only the beginning. Today, I live that passion through my studies in mechanical and aerospace engineering, with a focus on structural analysis and aircraft design, while also pursuing my love of aviation by flying aircraft and working towards my pilot's license. What began with building a simple balsa-wood airplane with my uncle has grown into a passion for understanding, designing, and ultimately flying the machines that first captured my imagination.
I am a rising junior at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a certificate in Aerospace Engineering. My engineering interests center on autonomous aerospace systems, which I pursue through both independent projects and research.

Project Lead · Independent build
Designed and built an autonomous GPS-guided UAV from scratch, from airfoil selection to avionics, with the ultimate goal of delivering a payload within a defined degree of precision.

Research · Duke Aeroelasticity Group
Modal analysis of folded wingtips in ANSYS, benchmarked against Euler-Bernoulli and Saint-Venant theory. Used FEA to check prior hammer-testing results, aiming to conduct flutter analysis experiments on similar models in the future.

Duke AERO · High-powered rocketry
Redesigned and built the guided recovery system and designed a transparent camera housing for the payload onboard Duke AERO's Devil's Advocate, contributing to a 3rd place finish at IREC 2026.
